PACKAGING ADVICE ::

When sending any items through Parcelflight.co.uk, it is the customers responsibilty to ensure that all parcels are safe and adequate for transportation. Listed below are a few guidelines to assist you . If you have any doubts regarding the suitability of your packaging, please contact us for assistance before placing your order.

DO's

All items must be boxed or in a jiffy bag/envelope.

Use sturdy, corrugated cardboard boxes with good quality outerliners.

Choose the size of your package according to it's content. Boxes that are underfilled may collapse, and boxes that are overfilled may burst.

Ensure that the corners of the package are well protected.

Ensure that your goods are well cushioned inside your parcel.

Always use high quality materials for your shipments, and consider strength, cusioning and durability.

Ensure that the delivery address is clearly stated on your parcel.

When shipping sharp objects, ensure that any edges or points are fully and securely protected. Heavy cardboard is suitable for this.

If you are shipping wooden boxes, ensure that the corners are well protected, and ensure that the box is not splintered, as this can cause injury to the people handling the boxes.

Place fragile items in the centre of the package ensuring they dont touch the side, and cushion your item on all sides.

Use strapping or strong tape to seal your package.

Ensure that your items are sufficiently packaged so that they cannot cause damage to surrounding parcels.

Ensure that your items are sufficiently/safely packaged so that they cannot cause harm to handling staff.

Place powders and fine grains in strong plastic bags, securely sealed and then packed in a rigid fibreboard box.

Use triangular tubes not round tube type cylinders to pack maps, plans etc.

When re-using a box, remove all labels and ensure that the box is in good condition.

DO NOT

Do not use bags made of fabric or cloth

Do not use string or rope to seal your package.

Do not overseal your package, as parcels can be opened by customs authorities for inspection.

Do not consider "Handle with care" or "Fragile" stickers as a substitute for careful packaging. These are only appropriate for information purposes.
